How To Make Bakshalu/Bobbatlu

Bobbatlu also called as bakshalu in Andhra. It is famous sweet ingredient of South India which is made for all main festivals like dushera, ugadi…etc. Let us see How to make tasty Bobbatlu.


INGREDIENTS:

Channa dal (Bengal gram, senaga pappu) : 2 cups

Jaggery: 2 cups

Cardamom powder: 2tbsp

Maida flour: 2 cups

Wheat flour :  3 tbspn

Peni ravva or sooji ravva : 1 cup

Salt: A pinch

Water: as much needed to prepare the dough

Ghee or Oil: ½ cup


PREPARATION:


Take channadal in a pressure cooker by adding 2 cups of water and cook until cooker give 3 whistles.




                                            

After dal is cooked well take the water away from cooked dal.





                                                        


Now take the cooked dal into mixer grinder. Add jaggery and cardamom powder to that content and grind well until it becomes like a smoothe paste. It is also called poornam in Telugu.







                                              

Take some wheat rava, peni ravva, Maida, pinch of salt, some oil in a bowl and mix well and make it like dough and keep it aside for one or two hours.

Later make the dough like a ball shaped.Take a plastic paper and make the ball shaped dough like a poori shaped and place the poornam into that round shaped dough.













Now with the combo of dough and poornam make like a ball shaped and press with the palm until it becomes like chapathi shaped roti.








Now take a pan and heat in a low flame.

Now take the chapathi shaped batter and heat it in the pan in a very low flame.Add little bit of oil to it fry it on other side also until it comes to browny color.







Take the tasty bobbatlu serve in a round shaped plate.

Now you can eat the sweet and tasty baksham by adding ghee to it.
