How to Make Coconut Rice / Kobberi Annaam

Coconut rice is famous traditional recipe which everyone likes very much. It is prepared in a very easy manner. It is also called as Kobberi Annam in Telugu.


                                     






INGREDIENTS:


Cooked Rice: 1 cup

Oil: 5tbspn

Mustard seeds: 1tbspn

Cumin seeds: 1tbspn

Pepper seeds: ½ tbspn

Channadal: 1tbspn

Coconut (grated): 1

Peanuts : 1tbspn

Salt: As much needed

Cashew nuts: 2tbspn

Urad Dal: 1tbspn

Ginger: a pinch

Curry leaves: Few

Green chilies: 3 or 4

Red chilies: 2

Asafetida: (optional)

                                    


PREPARATION:

First cook one cup of rice where grains should be separated and keep it aside.

                                              




Take a pan with ½ tbspn of ghee and heat for 2 minutes. Now take the cashew nuts and roast for few mts.Keep the roasted cashew aside.

                                         


Now take 5 tbspn of oil in the same pan and heat the oil in a low flame.

Once the oil is heated Add mustard seeds, channadal, uraddal, cumin seeds, peanuts, pepper seeds to the oil and roast well.

Now add curry leaves, green chilies and a pinch of grated ginger to that same content.

                                          


Add grated coconut to the same content and add sufficient salt also.

                                             


Finally add roasted cashew nuts to the content.

                                            


Now mix the content with cooked rice gently.

You can garnish the tasty coconut rice with coriander leaves which is optional.


                                           

Now you can serve the tasty yummy coconut rice in a bowl.
