Semiya
Payasam is famous traditional sweet recipe which is made for all important
occasions and festivals. It is also made as prasadam to god .Let us see how to
make semiya payasam or vermicelli kheer in a very easy method.
INGREDIENTS:
Milk: 4 cups
Vermicelli /
Semiya : 1 cup
Cashew: ¼
cup
Sugar: 2
cups
Cardamom
(crushed): few
Ghee: 3tbspn
Raisins: few
PREPARATION:
First take a
pin with 3 tablespoon of ghee and heat. Take cashew, raisins in that pan and roast well for 2 minutes until they turn to brown color and keep it aside.
Now take cup
of vermicelli in the same pan and roast well in 3 tablespoon of ghee.
Now take
milk in a bowl and boil for few minutes in a low flame.
Now add
sufficient sugar as much needed to get sweet taste to the milk and stir well.
After milk
is boiled well add roasted semiya to that milk content. Stir it continuously
until vermicelli is cooked well.
Now add
cardamom powder to that content for more taste.
Now remove
the content from stove.
Finally
garnish well roasted cashew and raisins to that content and serve in a bowl.
