Upma is popular traditional South Indian breakfast recipe which can be made by rice rawa,wheat rawa or Bombay rawa. It can be tasted with combo of coconut chutney,lemon pickle or tomato chutney.Let us see how to make tasty upma with wheat rawa(It is good for diabetic patients).
Ingredients:
Wheat rawa : 1 cup
Green Chilli : 2 or 3 (Chopped)
Channadal : ½ tbsp
Uraddal : ½ tbspn
Ginger : Chopped
Water : 1 ½ cup
Corriander : few
Curry leaves: Few
Oil : 3 or 4 tbspn
Ghee(for taste): 1tbspn
Salt : as much needed
Cashew: few
Preparation:
Take a pan with one tbspn of ghee and heat for 2mts.
Now take 1 cup of wheat rawa into the pan and roast well for 5mts. If we do so upma will be so soft and tasty.
Take the roasted rawa into separate bowl and let it get cool to room temperature.
Now take a separate pan with 4 tbspn of oil and 1tbsp of ghee and heat for 2 minutes.
Add Mustard seeds,Jeera(cumin seeds),Channadal,Uraddal for tempering.Let all seeds get roasted to brown color.
Now add Chopped green chilies,Ginger pieces,Curry leaves to the oil and roast well.
Next add 1 ½ water to the content.Next add salt to the same water and close the pan with plate.
Let water boil well for 10mts.
Turnof the flame and serve the tasty smoothy upma into the casserole.
